Engineer
Reports to Senior Director of Engineering
Job purpose
Theon Technology seeks an Engineer with experience in cryptography, software design, coding and debugging. The successful applicant will gain exciting real-world software engineering experience at an early-stage security start-up with the potential to revolutionize decades-old practices.
Our team works together to solve problems, explore new technologies, and learn from one another. The ideal applicant for this environment will be enthusiastic and collaborative.
Duties and responsibilities
Engineer responsibilities include:
- Document and test new software applications
- Assess new application ideas
- Research competitor offerings
- Develop applications(coding, programming)
In addition, you are responsible for any greater or lesser responsibilities as assigned by manager.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have excellent coding and programming skills.
Qualifications include:
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, or a similar field, required
- Background in networking, cryptography, and operating systems preferred
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
- Ability to work in teams
- Experience programming in C++,
- Experience programming in Python is a plus

QA Engineer
Theon Technology seeks an individual with experience in QA automation to design and implement testing procedures for our security-related software. The successful applicant will gain exciting real-world experience at an early-stage security start-up with the potential to revolutionize decades-old practices.

Responsibilities
- Meeting with the software development team to discuss verification protocols
- Identifying software application weaknesses
- Sketching out ideas for automated software test procedures
- Reviewing software bug reports and highlighting problem areas
- Writing and debugging automation scripts
- Identifying quality issues and creating test reports
- Collaborating with the development team to resolve software faults
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a similar field
- Previous experience working as a QA automation engineer
- Excellent analytical skills
- Detailed knowledge of application functions, bug fixing, and testing protocols
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in teams
- Good project management skills
- Experience with networking and network configuration
- Experience programming in C++
- Experience programming in Python a plus
- Background in cryptography, operating systems a plus

Accountant
Reports to Controller
Job purpose
The accountant is a role that presents an opportunity for someone to (have ownership of our accounting practices and drive change within the organization. The accountant will serve as primary point of contact for payroll processing, revenue recognition, bank reconciliations, and other areas.
This position will oversee the management of accounts payable and receivable and drive continued development and growth within the finance department with a keen understanding and knowledge of bookkeeping and best practices.
Duties and responsibilities
Accountant responsibilities include:
- Journal entries
- Bi-weekly payroll processing for employees & consultants
- Employee reimbursement
- 401K/Health benefits
- Monthly shared service calculations
- Monthly bank reconciliations
- Monthly book closings
- System implementations and enhancements
- Revenue recognition
- Taxation (Domestic and Foreign)
- Accruals
- Accounts Payable
- Accounts Receivable
In addition, you are responsible for any/ greater or lesser responsibilities as assigned by manager.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to organize their work using tools like Microsoft Excel, NetSuite, etc.
Qualifications include:
- Undergraduate degree in Finance, Business or comparable major required
- In addition to an Undergraduate Degree, 2-3 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience strongly preferred
- Experience in NetSuite is desired
- Works well in small teams
This job requires office and accounting work.
Theon Technology Software Engineer Consultant
Theon Technology seeks an individual with experience in NFS client and server development. The successful applicant will gain exciting software engineering experience at an early-stage security start-up with the potential to revolutionize decades-old practices.

Responsibilities
- Provide leadership in NFS server design
- Design and develop NFS server software components
- Engage with QA to help with system testing and validation
- Work with team to create deployment mechanisms for NFS server components
- Assist with development of software documentation related to configuration and use of NFS server
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience
- Experience developing NFS clients and servers, especially using nfs-ganesha and NFSv4
- Good understanding of NFS authentication mechanisms
- Background in networking, operating systems, storage, Linux programming
- Excellent analytical skills
- Extensive experience programming in C and C++
- Ability to work in teams
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- BS/MS in Computer Science
